What is All-on-6?

All-on-6 is a restorative technique that replaces a full arch of missing or badly damaged teeth using six implants placed at selected points in the jawbone. The prosthesis is fixed: unlike a traditional removable denture, it does not move and lets you eat, speak and smile with more confidence. By stimulating the bone, implants also help limit bone loss, which helps support the structure of the face and avoid the sagging often linked to tooth loss.

    You send photos of your smile and, if you have one, a recent X-ray. A dentist replies with an initial opinion, the possible options and any questions to clarify. The final plan is only drawn up after the examination at the clinic.

    Thorough examination, X-rays and a 3D scan to assess the bone and design the treatment plan.

    Six titanium implants are inserted into the jawbone under local anaesthesia or sedation.

Risks and points to consider

  • As after any surgery, swelling, bruising or pain may occur in the first few days.
  • Six implants require sufficient bone volume; a bone graft or sinus lift may be needed.
  • Healing time varies with the bone and general health; the second stay is scheduled according to the check-up.
  • Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes or poor hygiene increase the risk of failure or inflammation around the implants.
  • Whether the treatment is suitable depends on your oral and general health; this can only be confirmed after a clinical and X-ray examination.
  • Tell the dentist about any medication, allergies and health conditions (diabetes, bleeding disorders, smoking…): they can change the plan or affect healing.

Aftercare

  • With the temporary prosthesis, choose soft food and avoid hard or sticky foods.
  • Clean under the prosthesis every day with interdental brushes or a water flosser.
  • Avoid smoking, especially during healing.
  • Follow the written instructions given by the dentist and contact the team if you have any doubts.
  • Brush twice a day, use floss or interdental brushes, and plan regular check-ups with a dentist.
