Dental Crowns

Placing dental crowns is another method to create the Hollywood smile result. Crowns cover the teeth from all sides (a complete capsule), thus crowns strengthen and protect the teeth. Crowns are chosen if the teeth are mispositioned, damaged or broken, loose, or worn down.

To place crowns, the tooth needs to be prepared (filed down and reduced on all sides). The result will be straight, aligned teeth with the correct shape and size, as well as a beautiful uniform color. This color will be solid and permanent and will not change over time.

There are 3 types of crowns: metal-ceramic, zirconium, and pure Emax ceramic. The ceramic and zirconia used are from the Vita brand (Germany).

Metal-ceramic crowns have a black metal base (chrome-cobalt, no nickel), making them durable. On the outside, the crowns are completely covered with white ceramic, so they look natural (the metal is not visible).

Zirconium-ceramic crowns can be chosen for a more refined result. This type of crown does not contain metal and offers the best aesthetic appearance. These crowns are also strong and durable because they have a zirconium base. In addition, zirconium crowns are biocompatible, completely anti-allergenic, translucent, lighter, and generally more aesthetic. We recommend choosing this type of crown for the front teeth (smile line). Zirconium crowns are manufactured using the CadCam (computer-aided design) technique.

Pure Emax ceramic crowns are the thinnest and most translucent, making them the most natural-looking, but they are also more fragile (they do not contain any base) and are not recommended for molar teeth.

In general, crowns offer the same aesthetics as veneers, but they are more durable because they cover the teeth on all sides. We produce crowns in a way that is compatible with the morphology. Before placing the crowns, we do try-ins during which we check the occlusion (bite) and look at the aesthetic appearance (if there are any modifications or corrections to be made, we apply them directly on-site). The final result should please the patient and correspond to their wishes and expectations.

Crown bridges are several crowns that are connected together in one piece, and bridges are used to replace missing teeth. Placing a crown bridge is an alternative to placing an implant to replace a missing tooth; this solution is also fixed (not removable), strong, and aesthetic.

Dental crowns are another method used to create the Hollywood Smile effect. Crowns cover the teeth on all sides (like a complete capsule), thus strengthening and protecting the teeth. Crowns are chosen if the teeth are mispositioned, damaged, broken, loose, or worn down.

Placement of Crowns: To place a crown, it is necessary to prepare the tooth by filing it down and reducing it on all sides. The result is straight, aligned teeth with the correct shape and size, and a beautiful uniform color. This color is solid and permanent and will not change over time.

Types of Crowns: There are 3 types of crowns: Metal-Ceramic Crowns:

  • Black metal base (chrome-cobalt, nickel-free) and durable.
  • Completely covered with white ceramic on the outside, offering a natural appearance (the metal is not visible). Zirconia Crowns:
  • Metal-free, offering the best aesthetic appearance.
  • Strong and durable thanks to their zirconia base.
  • Biocompatible, completely anti-allergenic, translucent, light, and generally more aesthetic.
  • Recommended for the front teeth (smile line).
  • Manufactured using the CadCam (computer-aided design) technique. Pure Emax Ceramic Crowns:
  • The thinnest and most translucent, offering a very natural appearance.
  • More fragile (without a base) and not recommended for molars.

Advantages of Crown Bridges:

Fixed and Aesthetic Solution: An alternative to implants for replacing missing teeth.
Solid and Durable: Unlike removable dentures, bridges are fixed and robust.
